Clue 6 Cipher

At the Clue 6 pickup in Jackson County Jail, Chris L. received a deck of cards, and Gameteam posted the following image to the GOIV website:

This cipher is known as a Mirdek card cipher.

The Cipher

10 (Diamonds)
9 (D)
KING (D)

JACK (D)
ACE (Clubs)
2 (C)
10 (C)
QUEEN (D)
5 (D)
6 (C)

The Method

Each card corresponds to a letter of the alphabet. The cipher uses two suits (with 13 cards each).

Diamonds

1 = A
2 = B
3 = C
4 = D
5 = E
6 = F
7 = G
8 = H
9 = I
10 = J
KNIGHT = K
QUEEN = L

KING = M
Clubs

ACE = N
2 = O
3 = P
4 = Q
5 = R
6 = S
7 = T
8 = U
9 = V
10 = W
KNIGHT = X
QUEEN = Y

KING = Z

The Solution

Here, the cards spell out JIM KNOWLES, the name of the ghost with whom Grayson played cards in jail.

10 (Diamonds) = J
9 (D) = I
KING (D) = M

JACK (D) = K
ACE (Clubs) = N
2 (C) = O
10 (C) = W
QUEEN (D) = L
5 (D) = E
6 (C) = S
